The volunteer teachers program is part of the NCCA’s Sentro Rizal program which offers cultural programs and activities for Filipinos, especially for children overseas, to promote appreciation and understanding of Philippine culture and the arts.

Filipino volunteer teachers have completed a three day training program conducted by Dr. Rosario Alonzo, former dean of University of the Philippines College of Education and NCCA’s language expert.

The language program aims to help Filipino children born and raised in Israel to learn the Filipino language and increase their awareness and appreciation of their Filipino culture and heritage.

The Bialik Rogozin International Campus will offer an after school program to be held for 1.5 hours to 2 hours at least twice a week for interested Filipino children aged 6-12 years old. The Filipino language and culture program will be given free of charge.

Dr. Alonzo, who also developed the module for the language program, emphasized the importance of preserving Filipino identity and heritage through learning Filipino language and culture.

Aside from the cultural programs and activities for Filipino children, Sentro Rizal also provides cultural materials in print and digital forms to promote appreciation and understanding of Philippine culture and the arts.
