Dayaw Season 2, conceptualized and hosted by Senator Loren Legarda, and produced by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) and ABS-CBN News Channel (ANC), is a six-part, 30-minute weekly documentary series that focuses on the preservation of the country’s culture and heritage.
Dayaw Season 2: Episode 4 – Buo ang Loob – Shamans and Healers of the Philippines
The episode, “Buo ang Loob – Shamans and Healers of the Philippines”, looks into the methods of traditional healers and spiritual leaders whose knowledge of the spiritual and natural world make them indispensable to their communities.
It features the Agusanon Babaylan, the Mambobolo and Mananambal of Siquijor, and the Baglan of Abra. It is the first time that the Pinaing ritual of Abra has been documented and aired for television.
