The public is hereby informed of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts’ (NCCA) adoption of the Four-Day Work Week pursuant to the Civil Service Commission (CSC) Memorandum Circular No. 22, series of 2014 dated September 12, 2014. As approved by the CSC, NCCA office hours will be from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM from Monday to Thursday, effective January 5, 2015.

The NCCA, as mandated by RA 7356, acts as the overall policy making body, coordinating and grants giving agency for the preservation, development and promotion of Philippine arts and culture and the administration of the National Endowment Fund for Culture and the Arts (NEFCA).

As per consultation with the members of the secretariat and careful consideration of the clientele we serve, the adoption of the four-day work week is seen as a beneficial change in the workplace. With this new scheme, it is ensured that the Commission will still be able to serve our stakeholders and clientele with utmost quality and priority. The adoption of the scheme is hoped to contribute to the easing off of the grave traffic situation and commuter case in the Metro.
