The Kabataang Gitarista Program, a FREE Classical Guitar Training Program for Public High School students, is approaching its fourth year of implementation. This highly successful program, open only to Manila, Pasay and Parañaque students, started in August 2012. The sessions take place every Saturday from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the GSIS Building, Financial Center, Pasay City.
The program aims to promote appreciation for, and interest in clasical guitar performance among public High School students, to provide the students free classical guitar training through a scholarship program, and to develop a classical guitar performing ensemble.
The CCP Artist Training Division is now inviting its fourth batch of participants to be part of the program which starts on AUGUST 29, 2015. The mentor is renowned guitar pedagogue and arranger Prof. Jose Valdez of the UP College of Music.
The applicants should have the following qualifications:
1. Public High School students of schools from PASAY, MANILA or PARAÑAQUE CITY;
2. Either in GRADE LEVELS 7,8, or 9;
3. High interest in learning the classical guitar;
4. Commitment to attending regular Saturday morning sessions;
5. Good moral character;
6. Average or higher in scholastic standing.
7. Should be able to bring a nylon-stringed guitar to the weekly lessons.

Auditions of Applicants will be held on AUGUST 22, 2015 at the GSIS THEATER LOUNGE, GSIS Building, Pasay City from 8AM-12PM.
