The Philippines’ bid, SB19 is a five-member Filipino group that debuted in 2018 and composed of Pablo, Josh, Stell, Ken, and Justin.  The “SB” in SB19 stands for “Sound Break” which represents their goal to break and elevate the Filipino pop music.  This newly minted NCCA Youth and Sentro Rizal Ambassador is the first Filipino and South East Asian act to be nominated in the Billboard Music Awards as Top Social Artist alongside BTS, Blackpink, Ariana Grande, and Seventeen.  They are also the most tweeted account in the Philippines in 2020.  Recently, they have been nominated as Best South East Asian Act in the 2021 MTV European Music Awards.  For this iteration of the AKMF, SB19 was selected by KBS from a roster of nominated Philippine artists.
