The National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) will showcase artworks of Philippine Fauna Art Society (PhilFAS) artists in an exhibit dubbed as “Para sa Kalikasan 2022: A World Nature Conservation Day Art Exhibition.”
The exhibit will highlight exemplary 44 artworks at the NCCA Gallery, Ground Floor, NCCA Building, General Luna St., Intramuros, Manila from July 05 – 31, 2022.
PhilFAS’ first call to membership of 70 artists in 2019 rose to 112 members. Its inaugural exhibition “Sandaan” took place in the San Beda College Alabang Museum in October 2020.
It was followed by the 12th Tam-awan International Art Festival in December 2020 and four other venues, namely: at DENR Biodiversity Management Bureau, an online art exhibition of Haring Agila in December 2021; at Gallery C of Conrad Manila, “Of Art and Wine: Para sa Kalikasan World Nature Conservation Day,” an online joint art venture of Philippine and Malaysia in July 2021; at the National Museum of Natural History, “Natural Heritage Focus: Philippine Fauna and Flora” last May 24, 2022 that will run until September 2022; at Ali Mall “Sinag Art Fair” last June 2022.
The seriousness and dedication of PhilFAS founder, Bing Famoso, has been gaining momentum as it raises the bar for discipline, camaraderie and commitment among artists. Meanwhile, PhilFAS’ co-founders are dedicated botanists from the National Museum of Natural History: Dr. Edwin Tadiosa, Mr. Dany Tandang and Mr. John Rey Callado.
PhilFAs on its 7th exhibition is proud to reveal an all-Filipino artists show at the NCCA Gallery with a wide range of paintings of native species, endemic and indigenous to the Philippines.
