In 2025, the Philippines will be the Guest of Honour country at the Frankfurter Buchmesse (FBM), the world’s largest and oldest book fair. The central theme is “The imagination peoples the air”, a line written by the quintessential Filipino hero Jose Rizal in his novel Noli Me Tangere, published in Berlin in 1887. In line with this participation, the Open Call for Full Service Creative Agency is officially announced.
The primary goals are to position Philippines as a significant player in the international publishing sphere; to highlight Philippine titles, authors, and creators; to create awareness and anticipation for the the Philippines as Guest of Honour; to inform and inspire the local audience about the richness and depth of Filipino stories; and to execute a campaign with care, acuity, style, and intellectual dignity.
The Creative Agency will work closely with the Communications Team of the PhlGoH Project to formulate the overall communication, marketing and PR campaign of the Philippines as Guest of Honour. The Agency will develop key messaging, and create an integrated marketing communications plan, including a strong digital strategy. The Agency will also conceptualize, produce, and release all materials to be used in the campaign to promote this major endeavor. The campaign must be anchored in research and must strive to disseminate new information that will enhance the public’s knowledge and appreciation for Philippine books, history, arts, and culture.
The Agency is expected to prepare an well-thought-out, innovative and research-based Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) plan of the Project. Deadline for submission of the proposed IMC plan is on August 4, 2024.
