In celebration of National Arts Month (NAM), the National Committee on Music is once again spearheading Musikapuluan, a series of workshops and performances aimed at highlighting the diverse and rich musical traditions of the Philippines. Led by the NCM Committee Head and Commissioner for the Arts Arvin Manuel R. Villalon, Musikapuluan will be held across three major locations, showcasing the unique musical heritage of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

Musikapuluan will take place in various locations and will feature diverse music and interactive workshops. This will be held in Capiz on February 15 to 16, Lamitan, Basilan on February 17 to 18, and in Bauko and Bontoc, Mountain Province on February 26 to 27. Moreover, as part of the month-long celebration, there will also be NAM at selected National Museum of the Philippines venues throughout the nation.
Additionally, as a completely separate component, the Gawad Sining ng Dabaw, an award recognizing outstanding artists, cultural workers, and art advocates in Davao City, will be held on February 15 at Matina Square as part of Davao’s National Arts Month activities through the National Committee on Music
These events aim to bring Filipino music to life through immersive workshops, captivating performances, and meaningful cultural exchanges, fostering a deeper appreciation of the country’s musical heritage.
Musikapuluan highlights the importance of music in uniting communities and inspiring future generations of Filipino artists and is aptly part of the overall celebration of the National Arts Month 2025. The celebration NAM is in accordance with Presidential Proclamation No. 683 signed in 1991 and is happening this year under the theme “Ani ng Sining, Diwa ng Damdamin,” As the nation’s prime cultural agency, the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), led by Chairman Victorino Mapa Manalo, Executive Director Eric B.
