NCCA Chairman Felipe de Leon Jr. and Ambassador Raul Hernandez of the Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines in Korea will lead the inauguration of Sentro Rizal (SR) Seoul on March 6, 2016.
Chairman Felipe de Leon Jr. of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) and Ambassador Raul Hernandez of the Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines in Korea will lead the inauguration of Sentro Rizal (SR) Seoul on March 6, 2016 at the Philippine Embassy’s Chancery located at 80 Hoenamu-ro, Yongsan-gu, Seoul 04346, Republic of Korea. SR Seoul completes the 17 listed Sentro Rizal worldwide.
Following the SR Seoul inaugural ceremony will be Chairman de Leon’s lecture on Filipino identity and culture dubbed “What makes Filipinos Filipino?” In conjunction with the said ceremony, Bonifacio: Ang Unang Pangulo and Heneral Luna, two critically acclaimed and award winning films on Filipino history, will be screened at the War Memorial of Korea – Lee Byung Hyung Hall.
These films are part of the Sentro Rizal Film Festival (SRFF), a travelling film fest under the initiative of SR to mainstream Filipino culture and arts abroad and have already screened in SR Bangkok and SR Xiamen.
Aside from the inauguration and SRFF screening in SR Seoul, SR Hong Kong and SR Jakarta will also host the SRFF’s Heneral Luna this March 2016. SR Hong Kong screening will push through on March 5 and 6 (5:00 and 6:00 PM respectively) at the Hong Kong SAR Philippine Consulate General, to be followed by SR Jakarta screening on March 12, 2016 (4:00 PM and 7:00 PM) at the Cinema XXI, Epicentrum Walk, JL H.R. Rasuna Said, Kuningan.
