Taboan 2016 opens at the Central Mindanao University in Maramag, Bukidnon, from September 14 to 16, 2016.

The NCCA’s National Committee on Literary Arts, headed by Christine Godinez Ortega, invites everyone to celebrate culture and the written word at the Taboan 2016: Literary and Cultural Festival, with the theme, “Pagbinayloay.”

The annual event opens at the Central Mindanao University in Maramag, Bukidnon, from September 14 to 16, 2016. Activities include a poetry reading, spoken word poetry, poetry writing contest, open mic, IPAG performances of “SugaTula,” book exhibits, trade and art exhibits, indigenous and pop bands and a literary forum celebrating the country’s literary forms (Forum is open to students and teachers with registration fee of P300.00; P250.00 for students. The Taboan poster design features the mythic sarimanok bird, the iconic sites of Bukidnon: the hills and trees and the Monastery of Transfiguration. Design is by MSU-IIT OPI’s Jez Orbe.
