The 2017 National Heritage Month is now officially open!
Leading the ceremony and the signing of the memorandum of understanding for the celebration are Rev. Fr. Harold Rentoria OSA, Commissioner for the Subcommission on Cultural Heritage of the NCCA, Filipino Heritage Festival Inc. Treasurer Araceli Salas, Ormoc City Government Mayor Richard Gomez, and Leyte’s 4th District Representative Lucy Torres-Gomez.
An exhibit of Filipino Heritage Churches was also opened on the ground floor of the old Ormoc City Hall.
May is National Heritage Month per Presidential Proclamation No. 439 signed in 2003. This year’s celebration imbibes the value of Malasakit with its theme Malasakit para sa Pamana.
