The National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP), the National Library of the Philippines (NLP) and the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) in partnership with the Department of the Interior and Local Government are organizing a 3-day training for Local Government Units (LGUs) in Region 11. The activity will be held at the Grand Men Seng Hotel in Davao City on April 12-14, 2018.

The three cultural agencies will be presenting their respective mandates and programs which are most useful to the LGUs in terms of their local cultural agenda or development plans and programs. The first two days of the training will be devoted to lectures by resource persons from the three cultural agencies while the last day will be a tour to nearby cultural and historical sites.

Target participants are representatives from the LGUs of Davao Region, preferably, members of the Local Culture and Arts Councils (LCACs). Based on the 2017 DILG Seal of Good Local Governance Database, Region 11 posted 95% compliance of LCACs.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region 11 issued a Memorandum Circular dated March 15 inviting all Governors, City/Municipal Mayors to attend the said event.

Traveling and other related expenses while attending this training is hereby authorized, subject to the availability of funds thereof and to the usual accounting and auditing rules and regulations.
