In celebration of the #FilipinoValuesMonth this November, the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) invites high school and college students to join the Heneral Tuna Digital Poster Making Contest, embodying the theme “Filipino Values for the Common Good”.

This contest is an opportunity for students with a knack for digital art to showcase their talent. We want to see your creative interpretations of Filipino values inspired by the entertaining stories of Heneral Tuna. Make sure to include our beloved character, Heneral Tuna, in your digital creations!

Mechanics

  • Eligibility: The contest is open to all enrolled high school and college students nationwide. Create and submit your digital poster individually.
  • Theme: The entry should revolve around the theme “Filipino Values for the Common Good” and include the character Heneral Tuna in the composition.
  • Medium: The entry may be a digital painting or digital illustration in raster or vector format, using any free or paid software.
  • Format: The entry must be a .JPG or .PNG file with a minimum size of 2000 pixels wide in 72 dpi (square format or portrait orientation only).
  • Submission: The entry must be submitted through this online form, on or before November 27, 2023.
  • Judging: A select panel of judges from various arts, design, and cultural institutions will evaluate the entries according to the criteria for judging.

Criteria

  • Relevance to the Theme: 30%
  • Creativity: 30%
  • Originality: 30%
  • Overall Appeal: 10%

Prizes

  • First Place: Php 10,000 + Certificate
  • Second Place: Php 7,500 + Certificate
  • Third Place: Php 5,000 + Certificate

Selected entries will also get the chance to be featured on Heneral Tuna’s Social Media Pages! Winners will be provided with information on how to claim their prizes.

Policies

Upon submission, the owner of the entry guarantees that:

  • The entry is an original work and the software or app used is free or personally owned by the contestant;
  • The entry will not contain any violation of the law or materials from other copyrighted works; and
  • The NCCA, through the Filipino Values for the Common Good Secretariat, is allowed to use the submitted entry in all forms deemed appropriate by the agency.
