As the Philippines prepares to be the Guest of Honour country at the Frankfurt Book Fair 2025, the Open Call for Graphic Design Proposals is hereby officially announced. Frankfurter Buchmesse is hailed as the oldest and the largest book fair in the world.

The central theme of the Philippines’ Guest of Honour participation at the Frankfurter Buchmesse in 2025 is “The imagination peoples the air,” taken from the inspiring and incendiary novel Noli Me Tangere (1887), written by the quintessential Filipino hero Jose Rizal.

Chief among the responsibilities of the Philippines as Guest of Honour (GoH) country at the 77th Frankfurter Buchmesse in 2025 is organizing an exhibition in a 2,000 sqm space, alongside the 150sqm country stand and spaces in children, graphic novel, culinary, film, educational areas to present significant and current publications of the country.  All these require original and distinct graphic designs that will embody and effectively communicate the theme “The imagination people the air.” The Call anticipates sensible graphic design options that thoughtfully respond to the vision of the Pavilion, its curation, and its design.

AI-generated designs are strictly disallowed.

Submission deadline: April 30, 2024. Results will be announced on or before May 30, 2024.
