As this year’s National Arts Month nears, the National Committee on Dance (NCD) continues its iconic flagship program, Sayaw Pinoy, as participation for this year’s celebration in February.
The 18-year dance festival features dance artists from different regions showcasing their choreographies and remarkable performances to audiences all over the country. Over the years, the program took on different forms including virtual and online during the height of the pandemic, dance challenges in the era of Tiktok and short form videos, and face to face dance concerts and competitions.

Headed by Lordinio Vergara PhD, the goal of ‘Sayaw Pinoy’ is to increase awareness and appreciation towards various Filipino dance forms.
For this year’s celebration, Sayaw Pinoy will be comprised of three different activities which will take place all around the country, across platforms, for the whole month of February.

‘Sayaw Pinoy 2025 National Tiktok Dance Challenge’ an online, nationwide activity intended to popularize the new Sayaw Pinoy theme song. It will from February 3 to March 3 and will be announcing regional winners from the four island clusters – National Capital Region, Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
‘Sayaw Pinoy Online Dance Education Lecture Series’ will highlight dance educators and experts to discuss and engage in discourse about dance in the K-12 MATATAG.

Lastly, ‘Sayaw Pinoy Touring Performances and Workshops’ shall run from the second until the fourth week of the month in Batangas, Pampanga, and NCR. The touring event will bring together dance companies of different genres to perform in the aforementioned locations with the help of partner LGUs.
As the nation’s prime cultural agency, the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), led by its chairman Victorino Mapa Manalo and executive director Eric B. Zerrudo, Ph.D., and Commissioner for the Arts Arvin Manuel Villalon, invites the public to come together and celebrate National Arts Month (NAM) by virtue of Presidential Proclamation 683 s. 1991, bannering the 2025 theme “Ani ng Sining: Diwa at Damdamin” (Harvest of the Arts: Soul and Passion).
