The National Committee on Dramatic Arts (NCDA) is proud to announce its new flagship program for this year’s National Arts Month set to kick off in February.
Dubbed Tanghalang Bayan, the program promises not only engaging theater performances but also interactive and formative activities for participants. This initiative replaces the Tanghal National University and Community-Based Theatre Festival, which has served as the NCDA’s primary program in previous years. Tanghalang Bayan will be conducted on four different localities and will feature stage adaptation of stories within the communities.

On February 26 and aptly hosted by the Metropolitan Theater, the activity for Tanghalang Bayan will gather various theater organizations for a day filled with formative workshops and entertaining performances.
As the nation’s prime cultural agency, the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), led by Chairman Victorino Mapa Manalo, Executive Director Eric B. Zerrudo, Ph.D., Commissioner for the Arts Arvin Manuel Villalon, and NCDA head Mr. Edward Perez, encourages artists, supporters, and enthusiasts of local theater to join in broadening the appreciation of the country’s dramatic arts. The public is invited to celebrate National Arts Month (NAM), established by Presidential Proclamation 683 s. 1991, under the 2025 theme “Ani ng Sining: Diwa at Damdamin” (Harvest of the Arts: Soul and Passion).
