Eugene CUBILLO’s art is a visual diary and an extension of his experiences. URBANISM is about the result of his collective ideas that popped-out into his head based on images that matters to him and things he see from his urban world experience, familiarity and know-how, meeting and merging with people at the crowded streets and public places that characterize urbanism and defines the traits of contemporary daily life of inhabitants in urban areas. Using diversity of techniques, most of his works are mixed media to give him more creative expression and to free his art making process from constraints. To expand the possibilities of his image-making, CUBILLO used chopped wood, aluminum sheets and worked on a cut-out wood panel, arranged them and created images in a mosaic and assemblage method to represent the visual rhythm and fragmentation of city and at the same time he applied layers of oil and acrylic paint, ballpoint, stencils, incorporating drawings and mixed media on playing cards and canvas to represent the interaction between people and the colorful chaotic of urban environment by which it is inspired.
