Regiben O. Romana, The founder of Matang Araw, has just Launched an Indigenous Film entitled “Inlulan Hu Kalamag” (Sakay sa Hangin) (Windblown) Last November and won the Lino Brocka Grand Jury Prize at the CINEMANILA INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL 2011. The production of this film promotes the Indigenous Human Rights by practicing Free, Prior and Informed Consent : their rights to self-determination, to control access to their land and natural resources, and to empower Indigenous communities to take the risks and share the benefits of future development.Matang Araw will hold a week long Programme during the Arts Month focusing on Indigenous Culture, showcasing “Inlilan Hu Kalamag” film screenings, Talaandig Traditional Dance and other Traditional musical Performance, Soil Painting and indigenous traditional handycraft Exhibitions. Bringing 35 Talaandig Cultural Delegates here in Manila to be held in UP Film Center University of the Philippines, Diliman Quezon City, Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) and NCCA teather Building. Including Datu Migketay Saway, Datu Makapukaw, datu Waway and their families.
