Introduction
The National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) is a government agency created pursuant to R.A. 7356 to formulate policies for the development of culture and arts; implement these policies in coordination with affiliated cultural agencies, administer the National Endowment Fund for Culture and the Arts (NEFCA); encourage artistic creation within a climate of artistic freedom; develop and promote the Filipino National Culture and Arts; and Preserve Filipino cultural heritage. In accordance with its mandate, NCCA collects various data and information, including personal information, from various subjects using different systems.
In the processing of these data and information, NCCA is committed to ensure the free flow of information as required under Executive Order on the Freedom of Information Act (Executive Order No. 2, s. 2016) and to protect and respect the confidentiality and privacy of these data and information as required under the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173).
Request for data and information, unless access is denied when such data and information fall under any of the exceptions enshrined in the Constitution, existing law or jurisprudence, shall be guided by the NCCA’s Freedom of Information Manual.
The NCCA’s Privacy Policy applies to all the personal information collected by the agency from its clients through the different forms, website and social media surveys and different information systems.
All the personal information gathered are stored either in a database or an electronic file and can only be accessed by authorized NCCA personnel. Request for such data will only be processed by the agency upon receipt of a formal letter and if only permitted by the owner of the personal information.
